In a historic landmarked west village townhouse, a lap pool was installed under the rear yard linking it to the cellar of the townhouse. Natural light and a link to the great blue sky above is provide by a glass plank floor at the plan of the rear yard paving. The pool was assembled of multiple pieces of stainless steel. Each piece needed to fit through the basement entry door and was welded together and ground smooth. MVA integrated a mechanical system to carefully sustain the proper comfort levels for humidity and temperature.
