Paul Stuart Storefront Renovation
Paul Stuart Storefront Renovation
MVA was hired to oversee the renovation of the exterior façade of the Madison Avenue pre-war building where the menswear store Paul Stuart had its flagship shop since the depression. The job entailed the integration of the new modern steel panel façade with the storefronts. All aspects of the store’s urban presence including lighting, graphic design, signage where studied. Within the storefronts, the iconic “Man on the fence” logo was brought into full relief with custom-made figurines sitting on a Paul Stuart light box. The two floors of the store were united visually on the street façade with rust-colored linen curtains. Brass relief plaques were installed on the façade and integrated into the flooring at the entries.
